Voter ID

For the first time, residents of Wokingham Borough will need to show photographic ID to vote at this year’s local elections on Thursday 4 May.

Anyone who wishes to vote is therefore being urged to make sure they are ready by checking they have an accepted form of ID and remember to bring it with them on polling day. Bringing a poll card by itself will not entitle you to vote.

If you do not have an accepted form of ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate online.

If you want to have your say at the local elections, you must also be registered to vote. It only takes fives minutes to register online and anyone wishing to apply for free voter ID should make sure they are registered to vote. The deadline is 11.59pm on Monday 17 April.

Tailored resources for specific groups are available further down this page, along with answers to common questions you may have.

There is also more information on the Electoral Commission's website or you can download a leaflet to find out more. You can also download an easy-read version of the leaflet.

You're viewing real-time data. Participant counts are continuously updated for administrators. Please note that regular users see cached data, which may result in slight differences in the numbers.
