Tackling financial hardship: supporting our residents

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought about many challenges for local people, impacting their standards of living and health and wellbeing.

As a council, we want to ensure we are doing everything we can to support people who are on low incomes, or who are facing financial hardship for the first time.

We are working on a new strategy to tackle financial hardship in the borough, to ensure we have the right support in place to help our residents.

We created a survey as part of phase one to help shape the strategy. This meant we could understand more about the issues that affect you, and how we can enhance our services for residents and make a positive difference to people’s lives.

We then ran a consultation asking for feedback on the draft strategy.

Thank you to everyone who took part. We are working through the feedback with the Hardship Alliance and will be publishing the final strategy in the spring.
