REPORT: May 2023 cost of living survey
The findings of the latest cost of living survey can be found below.
Key findings include:
- One in three people are using credit cards or loans for essentials
- Growing cost of groceries is the biggest concern for Wokingham Borough residents
- 70 per cent of survey respondents said their mental health has been negatively impacted by the rising cost of living
- 96 per cent of people are worried about rises in the cost of living

Hardship Alliance survey
This survey was done by Wokingham Borough Council and its Hardship Alliance partners.
It is informing the alliance's year two action plan to implement the Anti-Poverty Strategy.
This survey ran from Friday 5 May to Friday 9 June.
Another survey to get the latest picture will take place in autumn 2023.
