Let's Talk Climate

We declared a climate emergency in 2019 and produced an ambitious action plan to play our part in tackling the crisis.

We want to work together with the community to review our plans and come up with new ideas to improve the borough's carbon footprint.

The process will be delivered by experienced facilitators and will offer two ways for the community to be involved:

  • Small peer groups (circa ten people each) who will meet twice
  • Public survey (e-panel) open to everybody

Please see the timeline below for project phases. These are subject to change.

Plans for a community deliberative process were proposed at an executive meeting on 29 July, outlining the research into different engagement models and the reasoning behind the proposed choice, which was agreed in principle.

The community deliberative process was taken back to executive meeting on 28 October with a fully worked-up proposal with financial implications will be presented and agreed.
