Hyde End Lane - Traffic Management Consultation

Local residents asked us to introduce traffic management solutions in Hyde End Lane near the Oakbank School. We want your views on the proposed measures shown in the attached drawing.

The proposals aim to reduce traffic speeds throughout all periods of the day and manage on-street parking, creating a safer environment for pedestrians at school pick up and drop off times.

If approved, these measures will form the first phase of improvements, followed by a period of monitoring and assessment. We would then see if we thought any additional measures were necessary.

The key features of the scheme are;

• Revision to traffic warning signs and road markings to support an advisory 20mph speed limit over the length of road shown on the attached plan;

• Introduction of At Any Time parking restrictions on the south-west side of Hyde End Lane to prevent obstructive parking and improve access for refuse and emergency service vehicles;

• Extension to School Keep Clear markings near to crossing points;

• Verge maintenance measures to improve visibility to traffic signs and pedestrians crossing Hyde End Lane.
