Help us shape a safer Wokingham borough

We’re working on a new strategy to improve community safety and reduce serious violence across Wokingham borough — and we want to hear from you.
This strategy will guide our work from 2026 to 2031, helping us make the borough a safer place where people feel protected, supported and connected.
Why your views matter
Your feedback will help us decide what to focus on — including key themes, priorities and actions. After this survey closes, we’ll use your responses to draft the strategy and share it with you for further feedback in January and February 2026. We aim to launch the final strategy by May 2026.
Working together to prevent crime
We want to work with residents, communities and local organisations to prevent and respond to crime and anti-social behaviour. Our goal is to:
- Support victims
- Protect people from abuse and neglect
- Act early to stop harm before it happens
- Learn from people's experiences to improve services
What we're focusing on
We’ve identified three key themes and six priorities to guide the strategy. Each theme includes two priorities:
Stronger communities
- Tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, especially in hotspot areas
- Working with all stakeholders to reduce the risk of abuse and neglect, and protect the community from threat, risk and harm
Supporting people
- Reducing domestic abuse, and violence against women and girls
- Tackling serious violence, including knife crime
Prevention first
- Preventing crime and reoffending linked to alcohol and drugs
- Raising awareness of online risks and digital safety
