Draft Wokingham Borough Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2025-2028
We are working on a new Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) for the borough.
Wokingham Borough Health and Wellbeing Board, which we host, is required to produce a new PNA every three years.
The PNA is a detailed report on pharmaceutical services in the borough and the needs of our residents. It looks at areas where there is a lack of pharmacy services now and over the next three years.
The PNA is used by the NHS to help decide on applications for new pharmacies. It is also a key resource that helps determine other services that could be delivered in existing pharmacies.
The draft PNA is for 2025 to 2028, and will be published by 1 October 2025.
Feedback from a public questionnaire earlier this year has helped to shape the draft PNA, and we are now consulting on a final draft.
We have asked Soar Beyond Limited to help us with this process and provide expertise on the assessment.

Phases
Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) Public Questionnaire
Tell us how you use NHS pharmacy services in Wokingham Borough
We want to know how you access and use pharmacy services in the borough.
We want to understand what services are needed now and may be needed in the future. What you tell us will be used with other information as part of the Wokingham Borough Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA). The PNA looks at:
- The health needs of our residents
- What pharmacy services are provided
- How easy it is for people to get to and access these services
- How these can be kept and made better in the future
You will also be able to read and feedback on the PNA when this is made available for public consultation later this year.
The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
Answers are confidential and cannot be used to identify you.
For support completing the online survey, call us on 0118 974 6000 or drop into any of our borough libraries. To receive the survey in an alternative format, email pna@soarbeyond.co.uk or call 01442 927972.
Closing date for this survey is Sunday 9th March 2025.
