Experimental parking restrictions for WOODLANDS AVENUE, WOODLEY

This TRO is part of the Woodley to Reading Active Travel Route, which will create a safer walking and cycling link between Woodley town centre and the Reading borough boundary at Palmer Park.
The proposed restrictions are needed to make the route safe for everyone. We know there is local interest, and although we have considered the likely impacts, we want to make sure we hear directly from the people who use these roads every day.
We are therefore introducing the restrictions through an experimental Traffic Regulation Order. This means the road markings will be installed on 16 March 2026 (weather permitting), and a six‑month consultation will run alongside them. During this period, we will monitor how the changes work in practice and you will be able to share your views at any time.
What we are proposing
An important part of the scheme for Woodlands Avenue is to restrict parking and loading on Woodlands Avenue between Lytham Road and Roslyn Road.
The restrictions are double yellow lines and will mean no waiting or loading at any time on the north side of the road and no waiting at any time on the south. These restrictions will ensure the road is kept clear for the vehicles that need to use it.
All comments will be reviewed at the end of the engagement period. We will share the feedback and announce the results here.
