Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy

Social Care Future core group at the Big Gathering

Introduction

We're updating our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policy, which is aimed at helping create communities where everyone feels welcome and belongs.

We want to make sure the strategy represents our diverse local communities. In January, we asked residents and organisations to share their feedback about their experiences of living and working in the borough.

We have used this feedback to develop a new policy and objectives for the next four years and now we want to know what you think of them.

Draft policy consultation

17 March 2025 - 14 April 2025

Wokingham Borough Council is updating its Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy, which aims to make Wokingham Borough a fair, safe place where everyone feels they belong.

We are also updating our equality objectives, which we will focus on for the next four years.

We have spoken to communities and our workforce to identify our priorities and the key areas we should focus on. We have also used a government equality framework to help us set equality standards and compare our progress with others.

Have Your Say

We want to make sure that our policy and aims reflect our diverse local communities and are asking people for feedback.

We have drafted an equality policy setting out what we will do for our communities and our workforce, and we would like to hear your thoughts. A copy of the policy is below, but all of the information you need is within the survey itself.

The survey is open from 17 March to 14 April.

Please note that you must be registered and signed in to be able to take the survey. Signing up is quick and free of charge.
