Creating a Tree Strategy for the borough
We've adopted a plans that clearly sets out how trees are cared for, and new ones are planted, in Wokingham borough.
Our Tree Strategy will help us protect the local environment and wildlife as well as the health of everyone who lives, works or studies locally.
Its proposals were shaped by feedback from outside experts and our own officers, as well as your views during consultation. They cover all trees from saplings to older specimens or hedgerows, orchards and woodlands.
They outline how they're managed and maintained, developers’ duties towards planting and how you can help protect trees with historic or community value.

Phases
Early engagement
We are starting to design our strategy and want your early thoughts about what is important when it comes to the project.
A more formal consultation will take place later on in the project, once initial scoping and information gathering is complete.
