Barkham and Arborfield polling place review

We are undertaking an interim review of polling place arrangements in Barkham and Arborfield.

The review is being undertaken following concerns raised about the distance some residents in the Arborfield Green development must travel to reach their designated polling place. We have therefore considered whether alternative polling arrangements could provide more convenient and accessible facilities for voting.

Proposed changes

Currently, electors in polling districts AAW and ABW vote at Arborfield Village Hall, while electors in polling district BAW vote at Barkham Village Hall. An interactive map of all polling districts can be found here.

We are therefore proposing to create a new polling district for electors living in the Arborfield Green area of polling districts AAW, ABW and BAW, so that they can vote at Arborfield Green Community Centre in future elections. This would require changes to polling district boundaries so that eligible electors living within the Arborfield Green development could vote at Arborfield Green Community Centre.

Arborfield Village Hall and Barkham Village Hall would continue to be used as polling places for other electors within the ward.
