A329 Reading Road (Wokingham town) cycle and pedestrian improvements
We're planning to improve the route along the A329 Reading Road between Wokingham town centre and neighbourhoods to the west near Winnersh.
This is part of our efforts to tackle the climate emergency, reduce air pollution and congestion and improve people's health by making it easier to walk or cycle.
The scheme has been designed to help people who don't usually cycle and will help everyone feel safer by keeping pedestrians, cyclists and motor traffic separate.
This is a key route that was identified in our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP), which we consulted on before adopting.
It's been designed to tackle the things you've told us you're worried about when you're walking and cycling, particularly your and your children's safety.
The design work is funded entirely by a £606,215 grant from the Government's Active Travel Fund and construction would also be externally funded.
Tell us what you think
Please view our plans and read more below, and then take our short survey at the bottom of this page. You'll need to register for an Engage account, but this is quick and free of charge.
Due to their size, we recommend viewing the plans on a laptop or desktop computer rather than a mobile phone or tablet device.
For help completing the survey, or to view it in an alternative format or arrange to see the plans at our offices in Shute End, Wokingham, please get in touch.
