I will buy a home battery

Peter Lord•4 years ago Overnight grid electricity is greener ( mostly nuclear + wind ) and cheaper. Daytime grid electricity is less green ( topped up with gas ) and more expensive.With the right tariff, a home battery can be charged overnight and used to (partially) power the house during the day.Net result is greener and cheaper electricity.

Peter Lord•4 years ago Some ideas to reduce home gas usage : Move gas hob/oven to electricity [ done ] In the summer, heat water with immertion heater on cheap overnight tariff [ done ] Consider heat battery to replace winter heating [ in progress ] Consider far infrared heaters to replace winter heating [ in progress ] Consider heat pump [ discarded, house not suitable ] It would be great if the council provides help with these ideas.
