Fully in support of this proposal

I am fully supportive of these proposals. The Piggott is an excellent school but is bulging at the seams and is in need of an expansion and some modern facilities.

With new housing and immigration into the area the catchment of the school has tightened, meaning that local schoolchildren within the catchment are at risk of missing out by metres of getting a place at the school that their friends attend.

i acknowledge the comments on here around traffic, however I believe that the impact of this expansion will be minimal. The reason for that is that the additional children who would be getting in are still within walking/cycling distance of the school. Any necessary lifts will be car shared- not least to save time, money and the environment.

Above all this is about giving local kids the opportunity to attend their community school- something that others have enjoyed for decades before, and will hopefully be able to do for many decades to come.
